[CHARACTER CHEAT SHEET] Sam

-Wanted to be normal, but is now starting to accept the life of a hunter.
-Brainy. nerdy, too, though not to the point of being socially inept. There was a reason he seemed pretty popular at Stanford.
-More willing to see shades of gray than Dean. This could be due to his own projections.
-Not quick to anger or to mouth off. Worse temper due to this, however. He will hold a grudge and get revenge.
-Much more of a black sheep because of his free thinking and his rebellious streak. What he thinks is right is right. Sammy knows best~
-Exasperated by stupidity and inefficiency. Yet, isn't above prank wars. Boys will be boys.
-Wants more than anything to escape his fate of being "evil." He knows he can. Mostly. Sort of. There's a constant pull here and he's not above doubting, especially in his dark moments.
-Friendly, better social skills than his brother. Some of this might be a put-on to convince himself and others about his nature. I'd say it's mostly legit, though.
-So much anger, young Skywalker. And it's so, so repressed.
-Appears to be decent with women, preferring witty banter and light flirting to methods employed by Dean. Can get a little awkward when someone is too forward with him.
-Has a healthy sex drive. Despite his polite exterior, he seems to be quite the animal in bed.
-While being a nice person, there's sometimes an underlying hint of condescension. He's not immune to cockiness. He just hides it very well.
-Thinks the more people he can save, the more "good" he'll be. [Albeit this is admitted while he's drunk, but still]
-Wants to figure out what the Yellow Eyed Demon's plans are for him and the other special children.
-Is afraid of clowns.
-Is good with kids (though not nearly to the level Dean is).
-Is a walking Encyclopedia of Weirdness. Knows tons about the paranormal.
-Still, he's a Winchester. That means trust issues. The real Sam isn't too different, but there are still subtle weaknesses he won't show.
-Is constantly armed.
-Has visions of the future that give him incredibly bad headaches.
-Known for bearing the weight of the world on his shoulders.
-If at all possible, keeps hunting a secret. Normal people can't be involved in their lives. He kept the woman he loved in the dark, so he wouldn't tell just any random person. Remember, don't let this slip in RP, Elizabeth you dumbass.
-Dean sometimes gets on his nerves and they fight like brothers do. Dark part thinks he's holding him back. But, really, Dean is his rock.
-Upward mobility (Sam) vs. blue collar (Dean). While not important to the plot, the implications of rising above one's class is evident in Supernatural. Stuck between two worlds
-Existence outside the dichotomies of gender and masculinity that define Dean and, to a lesser extent, John. There is no separation of women into Women to Sleep With and Women Who are Like the Mother (virgin/whore).
-Kind, but a wall is up.
-Arrogant in his belief he cannot be "bad"
-Sees ambiguities in everything, except the way he was raised.
-Needs to believe that people are good and worth saving (not doing this on instinct like Dean).
-Questioning everything he's been presented since a young age.
-Obsessed with the the philosophical implications.
-Catch 22: to be "normal" he has to lie, to do his job he has to lie.
-Violence as a last resort because of questioning nature, rebellion against how he was taught, personal beliefs.
